How to begin a great speech

       

   A good speech is a speech that drawing the atention of its listener. To make listener pay attention, we need to make an interesting opening, so that our listener will get curious with what we would say. Connor O Neil, the President of Leadership Institute at IESSE Business School on his lecture stated there is three best way to introduce a speech.

          The third best way to do it is by introducing yourself first and then you introduce your topic next. As example you could say " Good Afternoon everybody, my name is Richard Blaire, I works at an IT Company in Boston, and my hobby is swimming, on this particular chance I would like to talk to you about the importance of effective working culture in an organization. By introducing yourself to the level of private matter, the listener will get to know you more and they will have enough reason to listen to what you say in the speech.

          The number two best way, is by introduce an interesting yet controversial fact that might be sexy on the moment you giving presentation which has any relation with what you would like to communicate. For example you could say " Do you know the radiation of smartphone screen can adversely affect human body by preventing human brain to sleep faster?, or you can say things like " do you know that archeological research recently maybe prove the existence of Dragon that breathing fire? . After introducing a strange fact like that which you could easily get from google, you would easily make thoose who attend curious.

           Finally, the best way to begin your speech is by telling a story which correlate with your presentation. If you tell a story to a child you will start it by saying things like "once upon a time, there was a little boy wandering around a ricefield" lf they listen to that opening, the child you telling the story will tart to be drawn deeper to what you are saying, waiting for you telling another detail of the tale. Same thing would happened if you told a speech to adult people, when you start your speech by telling a story, they are going to focus their attention to you instead of ignoring you by checking their phone. For example, say "Yesterday when I went to work, I was very sad seeing a homeless man lurking in trash bin looking for food, as I walked closer to him, I realized that he was not the only one, there were like a dozens of them doing that routine in the morning in that street alone, something very wrong must be occurred in our economy system.

               Those are several things that he summarized from his own experience in giving numerous great speech and presentation. Those three methode are proven to be the most efective to begin your speech or presentation in formal or informal occassion.
